Weetangera

Weetangera, a suburb in the district of Belconnen, has had its name associated with the locality since the days of the early settlers. It was the name of the parish in this vicinity prior to the creation of the Australian Capital Territory, which included the land from Ginninderra Creek to the Molonglo River.

Weetangera has a small shopping centre containing a bakery, beauty salon, jewellery shop and a publishing company. It also has a primary school, Weetangera Primary School, a preschool, Weetangera Preschool, and its own neighbourhood oval.

Weetangera sits within the suburbs of Hawker, Page and Macquarie, and The Canberra Nature Park of The Pinnacle Nature Reserve borders it to the south. It is close to the Belconnen shopping centre and the University of Canberra.
